SEASONAL TRENDS
On 12 November 2019, the Acqua Granda hit the lagoon, flooding Venice and its surrounding islands, including the Venissa vineyard, for several days — a phenomenon not witnessed for over 50 years. In this extreme situation, Dorona responded with great resilience, once again reaffirming the uniqueness of this terroir. Reflection was therefore the obvious choice for the theme of the 2020 vintage, both visually and in terms of its impact on the wine, which promises to be one of the best ever.
THE BOTTLE
Designed by Giovanni Moretti, the label gives way to precious gold leaf created by the last descendant of the ancient Berta Battiloro family. The gold leaf was applied using the traditional Venetian gilding technique, and the bottle was annealed in the ovens of the Murano glassworks before being engraved by hand by the Spezzamonte family.
