Heroic viticulture in the Venetian lagoon

VENISSA ROSSO 2015

UNIQUE, REFINED AND RARE

THE PROJECT

Venissa Rosso yields from Santa Cristina, an island located in one of the most untouched parts of the Venetian lagoon. Here, in an Eden-like setting, among fishing valleys and orchards, is a sixty-years-old vineyard of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Plants that are rich in history and heritage and that have stood the test of time through water and salt resistance.

In this beautiful yet complex setting – of true heroic viticulture – Venissa produces its red wines. It is an extremely limited production where quality goes hand in hand with the ability of these vines to find a perfect symbiotic balance with this extraordinary terroir.

THE WINE

The production is extremely limited: only 1350 half-litre bottles and no large formats.

In the 2015 vintage, in particular, favourable seasonal factors contributed to smaller yields and resulted in an extraordinary concentration of our Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. This factor, alongside the tireless work in the vineyard and in the cellar, allowed us to produce a uniquely rare wine that excels for refinement and character.

For these reasons, we can safely say that the 2015 vintage represents a dream come true – that of finding the best expression of a terroir (the Venetian lagoon) by means of a red wine with great ageing potential.
